One of the absolute highlights of visiting Perth. This park offers incredible views over the entire city and the Swan River, along with beautifully maintained gardens and walking paths. What makes it special is the wildlife and the little surprises you encounter along the way. You might find yourself protecting your toastie from a bold kookaburra, spotting a skink darting through the grass, or watching black cockatoos cracking nuts in the trees above you. It’s the perfect place to relax, learn about Western Australian plants, or simply take in the scenery. You can even return later at night to enjoy the stars. Best of all, it’s completely free — even the bus ride to get there. If you visit, try to catch one of the free guided tours at 11 am or 1 pm. They’re well worth it. Tim, our guide was particularly awesome!

What a great place if you are in Perth. Kilometres of walking and biking tracks. Separate so you don't run into each other. War memorial and botanical Gardens. Best view of the city. Cafes and information centre. Plenty of public toilets . Nice and clean and quiet. Great place to start your day.

When visiting Perth, this is a must-see on the bucket list. For us, this is one of the most beautiful Botanic Garden in Australia. Don’t forget to bring something to munch on and a picnic mat to sit under gorgeous trees. They also have cafes and souvenir shops. Highly recommended! Keep our environment clean and safe like here, people ❤️

Kings Park and Botanic Garden is hands down one of the best city parks you’ll find anywhere in the world. Sitting right on the edge of the Perth CBD, it offers absolutely stunning views over the Swan River and city skyline, especially at sunrise. The park is massive, beautifully maintained, and packed with native Australian plants, walking trails, open lawns, memorials, and lookouts. The Botanic Garden section is incredibly well laid out and educational, showcasing WA’s unique flora in a peaceful and relaxing setting. It’s perfect for walking, photography, picnics, or just switching off for a bit. Facilities are excellent — clean toilets, plenty of parking, shaded areas, cafés nearby, and wide paths suitable for prams and mobility access. It’s also very family-friendly, with great open spaces for kids to run around. Whether you’re a tourist visiting Perth or a local looking for a place to unwind, Kings Park is a must-visit. Free to enter, world-class views, and something different every season. An absolute Perth icon

Beautiful park and garden. Pick up a map from the friendly staff at the Visitor Information Centre and make your way around the grounds. I spent an afternoon here and could have easily stayed for a whole day exploring. Lots of people around, but still felt a level of peacefulness in the Garden. Excellent view back towards the city. One of the highlights of Perth. Easily accessible from Perth CBD via the Blue CAT bus.

Good park for a walk around with some nice look out points. You could cover some distance here for your daily steps. Convenient parking locations too! Food / drinks spots are also available here. Recommended for a solo day in Perth.
