Canberra Sand and Gravel (CSG) - Mitchell Yard

I arrived at 2:41 pm Sunday to drop green waste and was closed . When I approached the gate to enter he didn’t allow me saying we close 2:45 pm I said yes I know but it’s still 2:43 pm and 2 minutes left to close , he said it’s already been closed and I have to leave. Trailer was hired and I had to return it so ended up taking it to general waste and pay $40. However, the management contacted me later and resolved the issue by taking serious action. Thanks CSG

Today I come to Canberra Sand and Gravel Yard, to empty the bags full of grass clipping at the Garden waste 🗑. I have been going there for years, to bring branches and small trees, that they make into mulch for the Canberra garden 😀. They sell rocks 🪨 to make a wall 🧱 😳 in your garden, and have all kinds of Gravel, soils, sands, and all sizes of pavers to make 😀 your footpath, back of the Garden and the Front Lawn 😀. Go there and see 👀 what they have, you may find some things for your Garden.

Ordered 2 cubes of sandy top soil, product was full of blue metal crusher dust and basically useless, looks horrible on my lawn, turns very dry and crusty like.

Good experience. Recently ordered 40mm Bredbo Brown from them. Best price in town for product and delivery. Purchased over phone was told a rough time for delivery. Was contacted ten minutes before driver arrived. Driver asked where to unload. I do not know about comment of stuff dropped off in the wrong spot I guess this can happen if you are not home. As for the comment about the reception lady I had no troubles dealing with her. Found her quite efficient and effective actually. There is only one person in the (busy) office so you are not going to get favourable responses if you ask whether the white stone or black pebble better. **Update 10.7.21 - Tried click and collect service at Mitchell and got a text saying I could head over immediately. Everything was loaded in my car within 15 minutes. It works!

Google says you close at 2:55 pm on Sundays, but I was told it was closed by the yard assistant at 2:40 pm—while I watched others still unloading their green waste. not happy..
