Alexandra Gardens is a beautiful green escape right next to Melbourne CBD. Located along the Yarra River, it’s perfect for a relaxed walk, picnic, or some outdoor play. There’s plenty of open space for kids to run around and it’s also a great spot to bring your pets. The gardens are well maintained with lovely, colourful flowers that add to the charm. One of the best parts is the location — Southbank and Southgate shopping and dining precincts are just a short walk away. A peaceful place to unwind while still being close to the city buzz. Highly recommended for families, pet owners, or anyone looking for a calm break in the heart of Melbourne 🌿
Lawn area for relaxing and having picnics in the city. Nice view of city buildings at night. Great for walks.

This is a waterfront urban park on the south side of the Yarra River, part of the green lung of Melbourne. The Alexandria Gardens squeezed in between the river and Queen Victoria Gardens and Kings Domain to the south. You'll find lawns, nice landscaping, historic boathouses, war memorial, public toilets and riverside walking & cycling path. It is a nice addition to the green space on the south side of the Yarra.
Great place to watch fireworks and Moomba. Plenty of rides and food vans. As I had dinner before I came, they were not very good to me. But the smells were okay. There's not much wind around.
Nice park to have a picnic with family and friends.
The temporary stage is really cool, saw Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds here, great outdoor space.
