A classy modern lookout overlooking "East Shores Parkland" and the Gladstone Harbour. Very popular with locals and tourists. Plenty of parking available, toilet facilities, and seating to relax and enjoy the ever changing views. Very popular at sunset. I suggest you check this place out more than once at various times of the day. Well done Gladstone, you have spent a lot of money wisely.

Nice walk up to the viewing platform on the east side, follow the foot path or closed road from the main car park around the park until you see the stairs. The lookout is still under construction, but there is a nice picnic area with BBQ at the top that's complete. It's worth the short walk.
When busy I imagine it is difficult to find a parking space. We had no trouble. The views over the East Shore and Spinnaker Park
Wow! ... the new lookout and upgrade of Auchland Hill is fabulous! ... best views over Gladstone Harbour.
Recently reopened after a lengthy re-build, this lookout is definitely worth visiting for its spectacular views. Idiotic architecture, though, because several of the benches, though under cover, are exposed to direct sunshine even at 1:30 in the afternoon. In April.
