Scott Swinson Studios

For a number of years I have been painting with acrylics. Sea scapes and marine images are my interests (two images attached) I decided sometime ago to have a go at watercolour , because I travel a lot. I discovered Scott via Facebook, his presentation style just clicked with me so I bought into his courses. I am thoroughly enjoying his videos. I am moving through them methodically and thoughtfully. Scott is opening my eyes up to so many possibilities and new challenges within my art. I am genuinely grateful and very excited. I am at an early stage within my watercolour adventure with Scott. The shear wonder of modern technology, my tutor (Scott) lives in Tasmania and I live in the highlands of Scotland. I personally rate his courses very highly and his presentation style is quirky and just brilliant.

I was in a bit of an art rut and decided to take Scott’s watercolour Landscapes for Beginners. I’ve been doing watercolour for 3 years but it was good to start from scratch as a refresher. I loved the pace of each lesson..it was in digestible bits. But most of all, I loved Scott’s caring and passion for us to see things as he sees them. It’s great to go through his thought processes with him and his attention to subtle but important details. I’m now taking the Seascapes course. So far loving it too.

This is a great course. I am a beginner but have dabbled a lot picking up tips from various artists on YouTube. I chose this course as I wanted to learn more. I am so happy i decided to sign up. Scott explains each technique simply and clearly and I have learnt heaps. Thanks so much Scott. I look forward to putting the new techniques into action!

I enjoyed this beginners course greatly! Scott explained mixing paints and use of brushes thoroughly. This helped me to gain deeper colors. I love the free flow actions and how the paintings came together. Other techniques taught me not to be afraid to experiment. I would highly recommend this course to give you another perspective on using watercolor. I ended the course with some beautiful work that I’m proud of. I can’t wait to apply all that I’ve learned.

I am only part of the way through Scott's beginner's course and loving it! After following just a few lessons I am producing paintings I never would have thought possible with no previous experience. Scott has a lovely, natural teaching style and a beautiful, relaxed painting style. And all this for a small cost but worth so much more. So happy to have found Scott and can't wait to continue on to the other courses as well.

I did the Watercolors for Beginners course, and am about 3/4 the way through, paused to practicve what I have learned so far and to do some of the lessons again. Scott is a great teacher, and unlike a lot of online classes DOES respond to questions and posts! The camera work is good/clear, and I've never felt like there was something happening off camera that seemed important which I've experienced before with other classes. Overall I am VERY happy and will be looking at the more advanced classes once I'm happy with my progress!
