Quiet, calm and peaceful 😌
Beautiful and quiet. You don't feel like you are in the middle of suburbia.
The experience of walking through this garden is spectacular and has an amazing serene view right next to it. The garden showcases the various plants and tree that the Indigenous community used to survive, hunt and used to sew with. Make sure you have a strong idea of knowing what you can eat from that garden before you pick from it as some of the plants are actually poisonous.
A renowned garden featuring some plants locally uncommon in cultivation in Melbourne (e.g. Quandong - Santalum acuminatum, Wilga - Geijera parviflora, Sandpaper fig - Ficus coronata) known for their utilisation by indigenous people for an array of purposes. Also notable specimens of Eremophila sp. and Doryanthes palmeri are present. Recent supplementary plantings have occurred in the gardens. A diverse range of bird life is also attracted to the vicinity, including Rainbow and Musk Lorikeets, Eastern Rosellas, Little - and Long-billed Corellas, kookaburras, and Nankeen Night-herons and Buff-banded Rails near the adjacent lake.
