Welcome to Thornbury

This place is actually super fun & chill. The vibes are great & there were plenty of spots for a large group to sit. All the staff were super nice & the drinks selection was great! There was definitely something for everybody. I had jumbo potato cakes from Woking Amazing & they were delicious!

We recently held our Christmas party here with a group of 12 people. The bar staff were great, and the food was also good. At around 8:00 pm (with a listed closing time of 9:30 pm), we purchased $350 worth of game cards for the amusement machines. At approximately 8:50 pm, a staff member advised us they were shutting early as it was quiet and that the machines would be turned off in five minutes. At the time, several of our staff were visibly in the middle of games. Despite this, the power to the machines was simply shut off while people were still playing. When this was questioned, the staff member was extremely rude, offered no apology, and advised that any issues should be taken up with their manager. Up until this point, everyone had been enjoying themselves, but the attitude and handling of the situation left our group quite shocked—particularly as many of us work in retail ourselves and understand customer service expectations. Between drinks, food, and the game cards, we spent a significant amount of money, and based on this experience, we would not return. It’s disappointing, as the bar staff were excellent. Unfortunately, one poor interaction completely overshadowed the night. If the venue is quiet at this time of year, experiences like this may be part of the reason. You need more staff like those behind the bar.

The vibe here is good, but the drinks we had weren't carbonated. The food wasn't great either, but I really liked that there was an arcade inside.

What a great place to catch up for a group setting. We had a work function there. 2 4 1 cocktails were enticing for all who attended. Food truck selection was great! Mr Burger cheeseburger was delicious and enjoyable. Ambiance was great, easy to talk apart from the tvs. They were a little loud but otherwise great.

When entering you’re met with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with lots of colour and plants. Ordering a drink here will set you back a bit and it’s quite hard to order within a price range with there being no price list for the bar. The food is good with moderate servings but nothing to boast about and again will set you back a bit. Overall a pretty good place to come with friends or family offering something for everyone but could be improved in some areas.

We had our wedding here recently and we had such a wonderful time! All the staff were top notch and truly went above and beyond. The function space was gorgeous, and the food was awesome 🙂

We had a junior football club end of year event at Welcome to Thornbury on the weekend. It was a great event. One hour of unlimited blur and green arcade games; a generous serve of popcorn chicken and chips (I sampled a couple they were delicious!) and one hour of unlimited soft drink was included for $35 a kid. We had a big table reserved so the parents could chat and the kids could play, so good! The event team including Annaleise were super easy to deal with and made the event a breeze. Highly recommended for any kid events where the parents was to socialise too.
