Top 3 of the best worst shopping centres in Melbourne, and a timeless example of the "2 Coles" approach to market saturation. Kmart's long gone, the food options are all pretty pathetic, and there's a dude selling straight up pirated movies and music from a retail shop front, but I love it. It'll probably get knocked down and replaced with some large scale residential development in the next few years, shoppers will be funnelled to Northland, and the scooter kids will be running the country, but until that time, it's the, there's, there is pretty decent, there is, parking, and a bus stop, and a cop station next door, and heaps of those plastic chairs that disintegrate at the first sign of rain and/or UV exposure, so, there ya go.
I love this place!!! Walking heaven on a rainy out cold day. Opens at 6am. Nestled between a great park and an active shopping street, you can extend your walk either way when the weather clears up. Great indoor public bathroom too
I was pleasantly surprised to not be presented at knife point. As this was quite a sketchy vibe on a Sunday afternoon. However after escaping unscathed I have to say it was an enjoyable enough experience if you walk briskly and keep your head down.
From the early eighties when this was very popular and in my opinion had the best octopus in Melbourne to the present where Northcote plaza is dying a slow death with but a fraction of the shops it once had. In the plazas defence however it aint alone. The shop rents are beyond belief especially when there has been no significant renovations since the early 80s. Just Feast your eyes on the windows. Furthermore if Kmart is closing this year it will just be avoiding the inevitable. More apartments . RIP Norchote plaza. RIP Vicky.
This dismal abyss of retail convenience has a dark secret. One which any man using the toilet will discover to their horror. Every cubicle is a harrowing experience akin to coming across a violent crimescene, no amount of soap & water can make you feel clean after. Beware all ye who enter this dank abode of reeking commodes.
This place was so scary it was like a zombie apocalypse movie. Trash and rotten fruit swept into every corner, the whole place reaks of the butcher. Half the lights are broken, all the stores are empty. Awful place.
It's a sufficient medium sized shopping centre with places for groceries and other types of goods. It has access to a tram and it's not difficult at all to navigate.
