North Lakes Library

📍 Garden centers in North Lakes

6.7

Address is a spacious and well-equipped library that serves as a hub for the community. It offers a vast collection of books, ample seating areas, and numerous computers for public use. The library is particularly noted for its excellent study spaces, though it can get busier in the afternoons. The staff are consistently helpful, and the facility hosts various activities, including kids' clubs and events.

The library has recently refreshed its kids' area, enhancing the layout and creating a more inviting atmosphere. While parking can be challenging, patience usually pays off. However, recent changes to the quiet study room, requiring doors to remain open, have been met with some disappointment, as it affects the ability to simulate exam conditions.

We enjoying coming here for the under 5 events. It's can be challenging getting parking nearby but if you're patient you'll eventually get one. They layout in the kids area had recently been refreshed. It looks so much better and feels like there is more space. This is a decent sized library with lots of books, seating areas and the staff are always helpful.

A great community library including various activities which I have attended with my children. However, after studying for a National exam for the past year in the quiet room off to the side, I have been told in recent weeks that the doors to the quiet space must remain open. There is no consistency amongst staff and I have been able to study practice exams prior to this with no issues since Jan 2025. I was told by a staff member that it is for "safety reasons" however when asked I was not provided with the details of this. A library should have spaces for quiet study with doors able to be closed, for example when doing past exam papers to simulate exam conditions. Chermside library and other peripheral libraries in the Moreton Bay region have these facilities with no "safety" concerns with doors needing to be left open. Very disappointed to see that these are the new changes being put forward to people simply wanting to find a quiet space to study.

Overall really nice, it's huge, lots of books lots of computers, amazing study space, kids clubs, However it's only really quite in the mornings, In the afternoon or if there's any construction going on, it can be unbearably loud, I've felt the need to leave multiple times because of this. 3/5 decent library

A wonderful community library! My 2-year-old son absolutely loves attending Rhyme Time and Play Time every Friday – it’s the highlight of his week! The sessions are fun, engaging, and perfect for little ones. Afterward, we always borrow a fresh batch of books to enjoy at home. Book selection is incredible! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile or a great book recommendation. We feel so lucky to have such a welcoming and well-run library in our community. Thank you for all that you do!

It's more like a community centre with a library in it than a simple library. It gets a little loud at times, specifically when the kids finish school and come to the library with their friends, and when there's events on for small children. But it's otherwise peaceful and nice. They often rotate the books on the display at the ends of the shelves, and they're always bangers. There's always a seat somewhere. I like it here and come here often to crochet.

Nice kindergarten they run here. The couches are extremely dirty. People putting their bare feet and feet with socks and even shoes on the couches is just absolutely gross. There should be signage stating, "do not...". Easy.
