Made In Japan

I have purchased a variety of plates, bowls, mugs over the last couple of years and all for my own enjoyment. I am absolutely enamored with the intricate designs of each item and appreciate the charming irregularities that make them unique. What I adore most is their practicality; being able to use them in the microwave, oven, and dishwasher is incredibly convenient. My collection of Made In Japan tableware continues to grow as I discover more pieces that I love. Each item is truly a work of culinary art that brings joy to my daily life.

Lovely store with even better staff. We went in looking for some bowls and plates for our kitchen. There is a fantastic range of everything you need in any colours you’re after. Nic was especially helpful in locating extra things for us that weren’t displayed on the floor. She is very knowledgable about everything in the shop and delightful to talk to. Plenty of in store sale items as well.

Boxing Day. Went on the website and said "For public holiday hours, please check our google profile. I did and it said open Boxing Day. Drove all the way to Mornington only to find the location shut with a note on the door that they are not back until year. Why say loom at google when you couldn’t even be bothered updating? To top it off the note said South Melbourne will be open. So from Mornington I drove all the way to South Melbourne only to find it’s closed wasted a whole day driving because you can’t manage to update your operating hours anywhere or even put a post up on Insta. Lift your game!

Emily at MIJ Mornington was so helpful and I absolutely love my new bowls, plates and glasses. The packing was done so much better than any other company I have ordered from in Australia. Walked past here and decided to pop in. Some interesting and great items.

Always love coming in here even if it is just a bit cramped in some places due to the thousands of internet orders in the majority of the store. Despite this though it's still easy enough to see the products and I don't feel the prices are too bad either.there was only one person working in the store and when I went to pay she was busy organizing a phone order and it took her a little longer to put me through but I really didn't mind, she was very apologetic and friendly and got me through quickly after that.

I’ve been a loyal MIJ fan for almost twenty years! Each store seems to have it’s own individual style and flare, and the unique staff and beautiful products, make for a fun experience every time! My kids eat off their tableware every day - which means they are durable - and whenever I have people for dinner, the food compliments are always secondary to whatever MIJ ceramic that it is served on! If you love food and quality products - I’d strongly suggest you call into one of their three locations. I doubt you will be disappointed.
