We ordered stir fried Shanghai noodles, xiaolongbao, fried dumplings, and radish desserts. The first 3 were good but the radish cakes came in quite uncooked. The radish cakes were already not good when we ordered last time but this time it was inedible so we had to return it without eating. Staff were mostly attentive and helpful. The environment was a bit noisy and there was always a queue outside the restaurant.
Nice food and very affordable prices. The dishes were enjoyable and good value for money. However, the place is really noisy, especially during busy hours, so it may not be ideal if you’re looking for a quiet dining experience.
It was packed but oddly only a 15 minute wait. So good. The menu is sooo huge. Easy to order without mistakes because everything is by number. Everything was fabulous. Great food. Highly recommend.
Why do they serve all their food warm? Why am I eating room temperature soup? Everything we ate was so bland, even the chilli was bland. I’m actually shocked at how bland my food was it tasted like water. I could’ve been served spiced water and wouldn’t know the difference between that and this dining experience. Anyway they also don’t pack your food take away for you because of the "RSA" said the waitress, pretty disappointed. Will be fighting the "this place is goated" allegations every time now.
Despite the long wait on a Saturday evening, we were greeted with some delicious food and service from New Shanghai in Ashfield. Food was delicious and will recommend to all my friends and family.
We went there on Monday brunch. We haven’t been to that restaurant for many years. It was quite busy, the food was average, the serving is smaller than before. It was quite disappointing with the price we paid. However the service and the decor were good.
I have been coming here for years and the food never disappoints! Great tasting xiao long bao and pan fried dumplings are my top choices. The fried rice is also a solid choice. Definitely recommend people to come here if you are in the area!
