Wingate Avenue Children's Co-op - Wingate Childcare

My son moved to Wingate 3 months ago from another childcare centre (where he previously attended for 18 months) and I cannot believe the dramatic difference in his confidence, social skills and independence. He is genuinely excited to go to childcare, it has been wonderful to see him thrive. The educators are warm, nuturing, thoughtful and attentive, and Christine and Jandan are amazing leaders. I cannot express how grateful I am to the team at Wingate

It’s always useful to read a recent review of a service so here’s mine. Wingate has had an exceptional reputation in the last 5 years. I can attest to the continued excellence of the service under the leadership of Gina & Christine with the fantastic team of educators many of whom have been with the service for many years. As a relatively small service offering around 70 places across the 5 rooms, it is a beautiful experience to be greeted everyday by parents, carers and educators all of whom know you and your children. My children have been so well cared for by the team at Wingate over the past 3 years. The sense of security and trust I have leaving my children at Wingate is priceless- I feel so fortunate that my children have had the opportunity to spend time in such a great outdoor space as part of this beautiful community. Highly recommend.

We have been with Wingate Co-op for nearly a year and absolutely love it. When I needed to go back to work they found me a place at short notice. My daughter started in the babies' room which had a staff ratio of 3 to 1 which is better than anywhere else I had seen. They were so accommodating of my daughter's routine and made an effort to do things the way I want them to. The staff are lovely and highly skilled and they do a great range of activities with the children. They also communicate really well. If I say something to one carer in the morning, the person I speak to at the end of the day has always received this message too. My daughter loves going to Wingate. Over the Summer break she kept asking to go back. We are looking forward to staying at the centre until she is ready for school.

We are about to do our 4th year at Wingate and we love it. Our 2 sons are both there and the staff have been consistently excellent, caring and adaptive to the needs of our kids. The indoor rooms are spacious, airy and the outdoor playgrounds are huge. The children to staff ratios are really good compared to other Ascot Vale long daycare centres and as its a not for profit coop, managed by a commitee (of parents), its not a 'profit-driven business type' daycare like some of the others. Don't be put off by the location, its amazing!

Wingate consistently impresses me. My 15 month old son started when he was 8 months old and the baby room catered to his routine and gave me the piece of mind that I didn’t have to worry about anything while at work. The baby room at the time was at capacity with 4 babies which was amazing as other centres had up to 16 babies. To me the staff seem to want to be there and genuinely care about the children. The centre manager is very approachable too!

This is our fifth year at Wingate Ave Children's Co-op. It's a fantastic centre and my kids love it. The outside play areas are the biggest I have seen with many pockets of fun to explore! Inside the rooms there is a huge variety of activities and play for the kids to do. The carers and management have always listened to my concerns and implemented positive change. It's great knowing my kids will have wonderful memories from their time there, my daughter still asks to go there even when at school!

The rooms have been given an amazing make-over, it feels so much more natural and fresh. The yards are huge and have a park-like feel that reminds me of what kindergarten was like when I was young - there is even a mud patch which seems to be open all year! Wingate has such a great community feel and we are always greeted warmly on arrival by both management and the room staff. Highly reccommend!
