We could not recommend Matclair Constructions enough. From the beginning they were professional and invested in customer satisfaction through the whole project They bent over backwards to realise our design although some challenging details. They were upfront with the challenges and always shared their concerns but at the same time explored every way to make the different detail work. Quality was always paramount . They had a good team.

Poor building company failed to follow detailed architectural contract drawings and be able to do high end house construction of a high standard. Continually seem to allow trades to do their own thing and refuse to fix defects The new house build time was almost double the contract time, we had to hire an independent defects inspector only to have Matclair ignore most of the defects listed . We have had to take Matclair to VCAT . Too many photos and videos to post but this captures Matclairs defect repair work by a carpenter to a roof that is supposed to be installed by a plumber. Matclair failed to install a basic small deck to specification and compliant for BAL 29 Fire compliance requirements

We’ve just celebrated 3 years in our beautiful home, and we still love it just as much as the day it was handed over to us. As a knock down and rebuild, the whole process could have been overwhelming, but Matclair made it easy and stress-free from start to finish. The attention to detail and the quality of the build is second to none. Our neighbours even commented on how seamless the process was from their perspective - the site was always kept clean, and they really appreciated how considerate the team was throughout the build. We have nothing other than positives to say about our experience with Matclair. Our first new home built in 40 years, with all the trepidation that belongs to these circumstances. From the first meeting, we felt comfortable with Neil and Russel Matthews and their whole team of long-term staff and tradespeople. We highly recommend Matclair Constructions and have been verbally doing so, for the past 4+ years. We were hesitant to make our dream, of a knockdown rebuild, take shape for over six years. This was mostly due to the poor experiences recounted to us by people who had dealt with leading bulk builders. We also felt out of our depth due to our inexperience - having only owned established houses. Our project of building two townhouses eventually saw us meeting with Matclair - a boutique builder. They took us on our building journey with patience at our ignorance and meticulous attention to detail. Our dream took shape under the capable supervision and direction of Neil, Russell and their delightful team. Completion was in record time and within budget. We occupied one of the townhouses as our new home just before the great Vic lockdown for Covid. Leasing of the other townhouse took time due to the Covid restrictions. Fortunately it has since yielded us a good rental income and also received much appreciation from two renters - one of whom was keen to own it due to the quality of the construction. Our thousand questions have always been answered by the Matclair team - with our 1001st question answered today 😊!
